We are now accepting applications (first-come, first-served) for the 20th International Volunteer Work Camp in ASO (commonly known as "Vola-can"), which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. International students — why not join Japanese high school students and make unforgettable memories this summer?
Event Schedule
◆ Dates: Friday, August 15 – Sunday, August 17, 2025
◆ Venue: National Aso Youth Friendship Center (6029-1 Miyaji, Ichinomiya machi, Aso city, Kumamoto Prefecture)
◆ Eligibility: High school students and international students (including foreign research students)
◆ Number of Participants: Approximately 120 (around 20 slots available for international students)
◆ Participation Fee: ¥2,000 (tax included) for international students
◆ Workshops: This year, six subcommittees under different themes will be offered:
(1) Multicultural Coexistence ~Let's create an equal society as fellow citizens of the Earth~
(2) Healthcare ~Understanding healthcare gaps: Japan and the world~
(3) Poverty ~Let's eliminate poverty! Learn, feel, and think. How can people around the world live better lives?~
(4) Environment ~Protecting nature's beauty and biodiversity for tomorrow~
(5) Natural Disasters ~Let's reduce the impact of disasters on foreigners by providing safe and reliable support~
(6) Happiness ~Let's find your own happiness~
