【Are you prepared for disasters? Shisei Dayori June 2025(1)]

〇Point 1

Do you know your disaster risk?

Check the disaster risks View hazard maps

Check the latest information and location of evacuation shelters View the Disaster Prevention Portal

〇Point 2

Are there any other places to evacuate besides the evacuation site?

In addition to evacuation sites, staying at home where you can be sure of safety, or using accommodation facilities such as relatives' homes or hotels are also ways to “avoid” difficulties, as the word “evacuate” literally means.

〇Point 3

Are you fully prepared with disaster prevention goods?

Please bring food, drinks, blankets and warm clothes for the place where you will use the evacuation site. Prepare an “emergency carry bag,” such as a backpack that allows you to use both hands, so that you can escape safely and quickly,

It is important to keep it in a place that is easily accessible in the event of an evacuation.

What should I prepare?

Emergency food (long-stored food, water, etc.)

Evacuation equipment (flashlight, helmet, etc.)

Valuables (cash, bank books, health insurance cards, etc.)

Clothing (warm clothes, underwear, socks, etc.)

First-aid supplies (medicine book, regular medicines, etc.)

Daily necessities (towels, portable toilets, etc.)

〇Point 4

How to obtain correct disaster information?

Disaster information is disseminated by the following means

Disaster prevention administrative radio (broadcast confirmation dial: 096-351-6361)

City website ● TV and radio ● Fire departments

Emergency Rapid Mail from cell phone companies.

Kumamoto City Emergency Announcement Radio ●City's official LINE and X (formerly Twitter)

Be sure to evacuate before Warning Level 4 “Evacuation Order”!

In the event of a disaster, the “Alert Level” will be announced as an indicator to help you make evacuation decisions. In the event of a disaster, the “Alert Level 4 Evacuation Order” will be issued, which will be used as an indicator for your decision to evacuate.

【The Season of Heat Stroke is Coming Shisei Dayori June 2025(2)】

Last year, more than 1,600 people in the prefecture were transported to emergency rooms due to heat stroke. It will be another hot season from now on. Let's take the following precautions to prevent heat stroke.

■Avoid the heat

Use a fan or air conditioner.

Wear cool clothes.

Physical fitness and physical condition

From the beginning of the hot season, build up your physical fitness to the extent that you can handle.

Drink water frequently.

Drink water before you feel thirsty.

Use heat stroke alerts

The Ministry of the Environment provides information on heat index (WBGT). On days when a heat stroke alert is issued, take appropriate preventive actions such as refraining from going outside and using air conditioning.
