【Event in downtown Kumamoto City News October(1)】
【Venue: Hanabata Plaza】
〇17th Mizuakari Light Festival
Date：Saturday, October 8th and Sunday, October
9th.
Time: 6 pm - 10 pm
This event will be held for the first time in
three years. We wish it would deliver hope to everyone. The lights were made by
6,000 volunteers. You will feel relaxed to see the fantastic light of bamboo
lanterns.
〇TKU Day 2022
Time and date ：10 am - 8 pm, October 8th and 9th

TKU Day comes back for the first time in
three years! You can enjoy various attractions like an e-sport trial and a
beverage booth, which are linked to the Mizuakari Light Festival. We will
broadcast live from the venue.
〇RKK Festival
Time and date ：10 am - 8 pm, Saturday, October 15th

am - 6 pm, Sunday, October 16th
RKK Kumamoto will hold a new event for the
first time in three years. A lot of attractions and popular programs will make
you have fun!
〇Kumamoto Downtown Music Festival
Time and date: 6 pm - 8 pm, October 21st

22nd and 23rd
An eve will be held on October 21st ! On 22nd
and 23rd, local musicians and guest artists liven up the festa!
〇100 Yen BEER FEST
Time and date: 12 pm - 8 pm, October 21st -
23rd
You can drink a drink of beer for 100 yen.
Buy a special cup and enjoy good beer! 100 yen WINE FEST and Haikara FEST will
be held, too.
Haikara stands for Highball and Karaage;
Japanese fried chicken flavored by soy sauce.
〇Interaction Festival
Time and date：10 am - 2 pm, October 25th - 27th
Citizens who are joining learning programs at
community centers in Kumamoto City will show you their songs, dance, and
performances on a special stage at Hanabata Plaza.
〇Kumamoto Halloween 2022 - Autumn Harvest
Festival-
Time and Date: 11 am - 8 pm, October 29th
- 31st
The concept is “Eat, play, study, learn, and
Broaden.” This year, we are preparing a haunted house. On October 29th and
30th, Kumamoto Products Fair will be held, too.

〇Kumamoto Music & Art Festival
Time and Date: 10 am - 6 pm, October 8th -
10th
This is a festival of artists in Kumamoto
Prefecture. They will show us music and performances on a stage. In the venue,
a workshop booth by members of Artist Spot Kumamoto will open, too.
〇KUMAMOTO OUTDOOR Day
Time and Date: 11 am - 6 pm, October 14th -
16th
There are many sightseeing spots in Kumamoto
where you can enjoy nature and outdoor activities. We prepared exhibition sales
of outdoor activities goods and fish catching trials. You will find trial
booths of skateboarding and cycling, which are becoming more and more
popular these days, too.
〇Kumamoto Curry Festa
Time and Date: 11 am - 6 pm, October 18th and
19th
Popular curry restaurants in Kumamoto will
open at the festa. Find your favorite one!!
〇Kumamoto Sweets Expo

You can eat various sweets in Kumamoto.

specialities!
〇Kumamoto Dancing Festival

The event gathers many fantastic dancing
festivals in Kumamoto. Enjoy Yamaga Light Dance and Ushibuka Haiya Festival.
【COVID-19 Vaccination Kumamoto City News October(2)】
〇The third vaccination for children at the age
of 5 -11 will start.
We are sending
vaccination tickets to those who are eligible. Please consider getting
inoculation with children and their guardians
■Eligibility: Those who are at the age of
5-11, 5 months after the second vaccination
■Vaccine: Pediatric Pfizer vaccine
■Appointment: On the Internet or phone.
■Venue: Medical institutions or Group vaccination

【Let’s Wear a Hard Hat When You Ride Bicycle-Shisei Dayori October, 2022 (3)】
The ordinance of safety-use and parking policies
of Kumamoto City Bicycles will be revised from October.
In the revised ordnance, mainly three(3)
items to begin with (1) efforts to try to wear a hard hat for bicycle, (2) obligation to join
bicycle insurance and others (3)obligation to light a light during the night and efforts to install
side-reflection Mirror, bicycle-rules will be added. Let’s
make a use of bicycle, keeping traffic rules.
【Assistance to Advance to High Schools and Others in Kumamoto City Will Start-Shisei Dayori October(4) 】
The City will provide assistance-money to
reduce the economic burden of the people Who are difficult to advance to high school,
which can be used for the entry preparation.
Target： Among Kumamoto citizens who advance to High School next year, those people who have got living protection or those
people whose local living tax have not been levied and so on.
Supply-amount：
40,000 Yen （flat rate）
Application： Submit it to Education Guidance Section
by the period from Nov.1 to Nov. 30 .
【Reiwa-5 Nen School Starting Assistance prior to School-Entry Will Accept Applications ( expence for school supplies of New Students) -Shisei Dayori October (5)】
Expences for entry preparation will be
supplied (only those who hope to have the Expence.) Supply-amount per person：54,060 Yen for
Primary-School, first year. 60,000 Yen for Junior High School, first year.
Supply Time : first time-around – around
early February, Reiwa 5-Nen Second time-early March, Reiwa 5-Nen
Target : New primary school students or Junior
High School Students who seem difficult to attend schools because of
economic reasons such as City Municipal Resident Tax have not been
levied.
