【Prevention is the best way to prevent heat stroke! Shisei Dayori July(1)】
~Preventive actions will protect you and your family.~
Heat stroke is more common from June to the
end of August every year, but it can be prevented with "proper knowledge
and appropriate prevention. Take the proper measures!
Avoid heat!
Use air conditioning on hot days.
Take a rest in a cool place and avoid
overexertion.
Drink water frequently!
Set a time before you get thirsty and drink
water systematically.
Talk to the elderly and be attentive to
them.
More than half of those who suffer from
heat stroke are aged 65 or older, and it is more difficult for them to feel
heat and thirst than younger people.
If you think you may be suffering from
heat stroke
Move to a cool place, loosen your clothes,
and cool your neck, armpits, and legs with water, ice, or refrigerant.
When it is hot, use a cooling shelter to
keep cool!
Facilities that provide shelter from the
heat when going outside are designated as "cooling shelters. Cool off at a
nearby cooling shelter to avoid heat stroke.
■A list of cooling shelters is available on the city website. Please
check the cooling shelter near you and feel free to drop by when you go out.

【Are you prepared for typhoons? Shisei Dayori July(3)】
As we enter the flood season, typhoons are
likely to occur more frequently. Be aware of the following points when
preparing for typhoons.
Secure or store outdoor items that are
likely to be blown away by strong winds indoors.
Check the erection of shutter storm doors
in advance and reinforce them if necessary.
Prepare "emergency supplies" and
"emergency stockpiles" necessary for evacuation.
Check dangerous areas around your home and
workplace, and confirm routes to designated evacuation sites and shelters.
Obtain the latest information on the path
of the typhoon and weather conditions.
It is extremely dangerous to take action
after the winds have increased, so avoid going out unnecessarily and be
prepared to "protect yourself" and take action to evacuate as soon as
possible.
