【Kumamoto Castle Marathon 2024 to be held! Shisei-Dayori February 2024(1)]
On
the day of Kumamoto Castle Marathon 2024, approximately 14,000 runners from
inside and outside of Kumamoto Prefecture will visit Kumamoto.
Runners
are not the only stars of the Kumamoto Castle Marathon. Many runners have told
us, "The constant support along the route is wonderful! We have received
comments from many participating runners that "the constant cheering along
the roadside is wonderful! Let's make Kumamoto Castle Marathon more exciting
with your enthusiastic support.

【No bulk waste collection at the East Environment Factory. Kumamoto Shisei Dayori February 2024 (2)】
The East Environment Factory will
suspend the collection of large-sized wastes due to a regular inspection of
crushers.
Period： From February 26th
to March 9th
The crushing process at the East
Environment Factory is unavailable during the examination. Please bring them to
the West Environmental Factory. Collection service of general wastes is
available during the period.
【What is Financial Assistance for Students? Shisei-Dayori February 2024(3) 】
It is a public system that provides
students with financial aid such as school supplies expenses and school-lunch
fees. The aim is to support guardians financially whose children have
difficulties with schooling due to economic problems.
【Items of Benefits】
School supplies expense, school supplies
expense for a new student, school trip expense, commuting expense, medical fee,
school lunch fee, and extracurricular fee.
【Issue period】
The spring semester: The end of June
The fall semester: The middle of
November
【Eligibility】
Those who apply for these benefits must
meet the following requirements.
- Guardians
of children who attend an elementary school or a junior high school
- Those
whose children have difficulty with schooling due to economic problems,
for example, households exempted from the city and prefectural tax.

junior high school, or the guidance session at the Education Board with
application forms.

In April 2024, the first night junior
high school in Kumamoto Prefecture will open, and we are recruiting students.
Eligibility
Those who reside in Kumamoto Prefecture
and are 15 years of age or older, or those who have not been able to study
sufficiently for various reasons.
