Filing an Income Tax Return for 2016 (Shisei Dayori, January, 2017)

There will be no tax return consultations at the Kumamoto East Tax Office from January 30th (Mon.) to March 15th (Wed.)    

When you prepare your income tax return form, please be sure to fill in “matters concerning the resident tax and the business tax
 
If you have a dependent family member/s under 16 or
per-dividend levy deduction amount, be sure to write it down.
Unless properly written, municipal and prefectural taxes may not be correctly calculated.
If you would like to personally pay your municipal/prefectural tax on the income other than your employment income and public pension, please put circle in the column entitled “Personally pay.”     If it is not so stated, your tax will be deducted from your salary. 

Those who are qualified for tax deduction due to donation to local municipalities, etc.
Those who have employment income, public pension, and other incomes as well

In addition to filling in the blank for “Tax deduction due to donations,” please accurately describe the location, name and the amount of your donation in the blank for “Deduction for donation” which is under the “matters concerning the amount deducted from your income” on the second page of the tax return form. 
                                                          

You are required to write down your individual number in your tax return form for 2016.
  
With the introduction of the Social Security and Tax Number System (what is called “My Number System”), you need to write in your “My Number” on your tax return for 2016. 
   When you submit the tax return form that includes
 your individual number to the tax office, you have to show some kind of identity verification documents or to attach the copy of the documents.                 
Examples of documents used for identity confirmation
Example 1
Copies of the both sides of Individual Number Card (My Number Card) for the confirmation of your number and identity
Example 2
Copy of the notification card for your Individual Number for number confirmation】+driver’s license or the copy of the insurance card of public health insurance  for identity confirmation】
