Establishment of 'Core Shelters'

Kumamoto City is working to group the 180 evacuation shelters currently operating into 18 'Core Shelters'.

Moving into large-scale 'Core Shelter' facilities will enable the city to concentrate relief efforts.

Core Shelters are expected to begin accepting evacuees on May 8 (Sun). Those who continue to require evacuation will be given priority. Staff from the city (ward office) will conduct a survey of intent for those who wish to use the shelters. Please inquire directly to the staff in charge.
